Partner Märt Rask in foundation meeting of Estonian Chamber of Pharmacists

On 13 September, the foundation meeting of the Estonian Chamber of Pharmacists took place at the Dorpat Conference Centre in Tartu, where the fundamental principles of the Chamber were adopted and 11 members of the Constituent Assembly were elected.

RASK Attorneys-at-Law partner Märt Rask and lawyer Birgit Aasa also participated in the foundation meeting. Rask is also one of the authors of the idea to create a professional Chamber of Pharmacists as a legal person in public law. Rask believes that the role of specialists has to increase in providing the pharmacy service, selecting staff and determining ethical questions.

The two main objectives of the Chamber of Pharmacists are that pharmacists should be the owners of pharmacies and that pharmacists should provide a pharmacy service to the state. The idea was welcomed by the Minister of Health and Labour Mr Urmas Kruuse, the Chairman of the Parliament’s Social Committee Mrs Heljo Pikhof and the Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Social Affairs Mrs Ivi Normet.
