RASK questions contract between biorefinery and RMK

The contract between Est-For Invest and RMK(State Forest Management Centre), which has received much attention, guarantees the unbuilt mill and half of RMK’s pulpwood over a 15-year period.
Attorneys-at-law Tarmo Peterson and Gea Vendel believe that the proposed agreement is lenient in terms of competition law and there is a real risk of conflict with the European Commission’s state aid requirements.

“Whether it is state aid and whether this state aid is acceptable must be assessed by the European Commission,” the attorneys write.
