Partner Märt Rask elected member of Estonian Anti-Doping Foundation committee
Estonian Anti-Doping Foundation established a five-member committee in order to investigate whether allegations with respect to Estonian doctor Vitali Bernatski, according to which, many Estonian athletes received doping from him in 1995–2007, are true or false.
The committee is led by a member of the Estonian Anti-Doping supervisory board Kristjan Port. The other members of the committee include Dr. Peeter Mardna, RASK partner Märt Rask, Head of the Estonian Forensic Science Institute Üllar Lanno and Head of the Estonian Anti-Doping Foundation Kristel Berendsen.
In his article of 17 December 2013 in Eesti Päevaleht, Vitali Bernatski revealed how widely doping was used among Estonian athletes during 1995–2007. Bernatski claims that he provided well-known Estonian athletes with growth hormone and EPO. Eesti Päevaleht did not publish the names of the athletes, but journalists have interviewed all the athletes and their coaches or representatives named by Bernatski. All deny their involvement in doping.
The Estonian Anti-Doping Foundation’s mission is to promote healthy and honest sports by carrying out quality doping control tests, promoting anti-doping education and contributing to international co-operation related to anti-doping.
