RASK was awarded the Silver Label of the Estonian Responsible Business Index
The results of the Estonian Responsible Business Index 2026 were announced at a celebratory gala held on June 4 at the UMA restaurant. RASK Attorneys-at-Law was awarded the Silver Label.
According to RASK partner Ramon Rask, the recognition confirms the firm's consistent commitment to integrating responsible and sustainable thinking into its everyday work. "I'd like to believe that no entrepreneur consciously sets out to operate unsustainably. Perhaps I'm wrong. The reality, however, is that business constantly demands choices – where alongside the more sustainable, and perhaps currently less profitable path, there exists a higher-footprint, more lucrative, yet ultimately hollow alternative. Doing legal work with a hollow feeling is simply physically draining. For that reason, and entirely out of self-interest, we have chosen to participate in a number of projects where the primary reward is positive change in society. This helps give legal work broader meaning and sustainability," said Rask.
The Responsible Business Index is the only management tool and quality label for sustainable development of its kind in Estonia. The questionnaires submitted by organisations are evaluated by an independent working group composed of ESG practitioners. Applying for the label helps organisations thoroughly assess their social responsibility from the perspectives of the environment, social impact, and good governance (ESG). The index is coordinated by the Kestliku Ettevõtluse Liit KELL (Sustainable Business Estonia), which brings together leaders in responsible business across Estonia.
This year, a total of 32 organisations were recognised with the label: 18 at the gold level, 10 at the silver level, and 4 at the bronze level. The results reflect a growing trend in which responsibility is no longer a separate initiative or project, but a natural part of organisational management. Greater attention is being paid to ethics, data protection, equal treatment, diversity, and responsible management. Companies are also becoming increasingly aware of managing their environmental impact, including measuring climate impacts and accounting for greenhouse gas emissions.
Annika Vait, RASK partner and member of the board of Kestliku Ettevõtluse Liit KELL, highlighted that the index is a valuable tool for raising awareness of sustainable business practices. "It helps more and more companies understand that responsible business is not merely a matter of reputation, but a normal part of an organisation's everyday management and competitiveness. In the legal sector, we increasingly see how clients, employees and partners expect transparency, clear objectives and genuinely values-driven decisions. It is essential that responsibility does not remain only on paper but is truly integrated into organisational culture and management decisions," said Vait.
The awards were presented at the gala evening by several leaders in the field of responsible business, including Kai Realo, head of the sustainable business working group at the Estonian Employers' Confederation and RAGN-SELLS AS; Kätlyn Remmelg, co-founder and organiser of Impact Day; Katrin Bats, head of sustainability strategy and development at Rimi Baltic; and Annika Vait, partner at RASK and member of the board of Kestliku Ettevõtluse Liit KELL.
