Tarmo is the founder and partner of RASK law firm, and is among Estonia’s most distinguished experts in dispute resolution and insolvency. He is also highly sought-after for his expertise in legal issues related to these fields. Throughout his practice spanning over 20 years, Tarmo has represented clients in large-scale and precedent-setting litigations, advising clients in civil and administrative proceedings, as well as in economic criminal matters. Additionally, Tarmo has represented clients before the European Court of Human Rights. Besides his attorney work, Tarmo also resolves disputes as an arbitrator at the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Court of Arbitration.
As a recognized specialist in the insolvency field, Tarmo collaborates daily with leading Estonian bankruptcy trustees. He is also a member of the Chamber of Bailiffs and Bankruptcy Trustees and the pan-European association of insolvency law experts, INSOL Europe. For the past five years, Tarmo has been actively involved in reforming the insolvency field, serving as a state-appointed expert in the working group for the revision of the reorganization law and participating in the development of amendments to the reorganization and bankruptcy laws.
Tarmo has also served as an expert in legal analyses and assessments of legality for several of Estonia’s largest investment projects, such as Rail Baltic and Est-For pulp mill, possessing significant knowledge of legal issues related to Estonian and European Union cooperative projects and competition law risks.
Tarmo is a member of the Estonian Bar Association's Ethics and Methodology Commission and the Insolvency Committee.
