RASK attorneys Villy Lopman and Sandra Kaas successfully represented the MTÜ Ihaste Elanike Liit in the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court annulled the decision of the Tartu City Council on the establishment of the detailed planning of two plots located in Ihaste. According to the complaint, the detailed plan did not correctly take into account the abundance of protected species on the plot of land, the plan was not feasible, and the city of Tartu relied excessively on the alleged agreement with the developer.
According to Lenne Rähn-Kuusiku, representative of the MTÜ Ihaste Elanike Liit, the cancellation of the detailed plan was the result of the great work of the community. "The Ihaste community is close-knit and active, and the living environment around them and its richness of life are important to the residents," he said.
