RASK consults public procurement case on ferry shipping.

Case

RASK advised the client on a public procurement case organized by the Lääne County Government to find the operator for the next five years for Sviby-Rohuküa-Sviby ferry line. This public procurement was announced in September 2015, after RASK had oppugned the legality of a temporary direct agreement with the same line. In the new procurement, Lääne County Government declared RASK’s client, Kihnu Veeteed, to be the winner, in the full amount of 445 779 euros.

RASK advised the client in the public procurement litigation process, preparing the offer, communicating with the contracting authority and reviewing the contract.
According to the contract concluded on April 29th with Lääne County Government, Kihnu Veeteed will start operating the passenger ferry Ormsö on the Vormsi-mainland route from June 1st, 2016. The estimated volume of traffic is 2644 trips per year.

is a company providing maritime transport services. It has been operating since 2002 and it operates seven shipping lines in four counties under the public service contracts. In addition to the public shipping routes, the company also carries out an on-call trip in the Gulf of Riga, the Gulf of Finland and the small islands and the mainland in Väinameri and lake Peipsi/Peipus.
