RASK successfully defended Siim Seppik against bribery charges related to the Hexanor OÜ bankruptcy case
Case
RASK's team, led by attorney-at-law Andrei Svištš and supported by attorney Omar Kõiv and lawyer Annabel Võerahansu, successfully defended Siim Seppik in criminal proceedings arising from the bankruptcy of Hexanor OÜ.
The bankruptcy proceedings were initiated by AS SEB Pank based on a claim of approximately EUR 6 million. In the course of the bankruptcy proceedings, a criminal investigation was initiated concerning suspected corruption-related conduct.
As part of the investigation, the bankruptcy trustee acted as an agent and, in cooperation with law enforcement authorities, participated in staging negotiations with creditors connected to Siim Seppik in order to gather evidence of an alleged attempted bribery. According to the indictment, Siim Seppik, a former attorney-at-law, was accused of attempting to bribe the bankruptcy trustee.
Following the effective defence work of RASK’s team, the Prosecutor’s Office withdrew the charges, and Siim Seppik was fully acquitted in the first court instance.
