RASK advised Meliva AS on the acquisition of Katriito mental health clinics
Case
RASK Attorneys-at-Law Karl Erik Esko, Keidi Kõiv, and Karl-Kristjan Kahm advised Meliva AS, Estonia’s leading private healthcare company, on the acquisition of Katriito, a long-standing provider of mental health services.
As a result of the transaction, more than 40 leading specialists will join Meliva’s team, making the company the largest private-sector provider of mental health services in Estonia. The range of services will also expand, with new consultations, assessments, and training opportunities becoming available to both private and corporate clients.
According to Marja-Liisa Alop, Chairwoman of Meliva’s Management Board, the integration of Katriito represents an important step toward delivering comprehensive healthcare services, ensuring that patients can access the help they need from a single provider. The transaction will take effect on 15 September, with integration of service portfolios expected to be completed by January 2026.
“In addition to our long-standing daily advisory work with Meliva, we have supported the company’s growth through the acquisitions of both dental and mental health clinics. It is rewarding to see this trend continue and to witness Meliva’s commitment to further strengthening its already strong expertise in specialist medical services. Given the complex challenges facing Estonia’s healthcare system, the presence of experienced and capable service providers in the market is certainly vital. We are grateful for the trust placed in us and wish every success to the united Meliva and Katriito team,” commented Attorney-at-Law Karl Erik Esko.
Founded in 2008, Katriito operates in Tallinn, Tartu, and online across Estonia, offering evidence-based treatment and psychological counselling. In 2024, the clinic provided nearly 10,000 appointments.
